I have never stayed in one place long enough to get comfortable. I think that’s exactly why I am the way that I am. I spent my childhood learning how to read a room before I was ever in it. I learned how to study people. How to find the pulse of an unfamiliar place. How to make something feel like home when nothing around you confirms that it is. I moved homes as a kid. A lot. And somewhere between the anxiety and adaptation, I developed a skill that no classroom taught me: I learned how to understand people. Quickly. Deeply. Before they’ve said a word about what they need. That’s strategy to me. It’s not a textbook definition. It’s a lived experience.
